Why \u201c52 Hertz\u201d ?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The name of our company, 52 Hertz, wasn't chosen by chance !<\/span><\/p>

It refers to a whale<\/b>, also known as the \u201cloneliest whale in the world.\u201d What makes it unique is its song, which has a frequency of 52 hertz, a frequency different from that of other whales, which generally sing between 10 and 40 Hz. This limits its ability to communicate with other whales, which is why it is often perceived as isolated.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This song was first discovered in 1989, at the height of the Cold War, when the U.S. Navy detected a sound at an unusual frequency : 52 Hertz. After some uncertainty about its origin, it was not until the end of the Cold War that the United States made the recordings available to researchers. Since then, it has been heard every year, traversing the oceans with its unique song.<\/span><\/p>

That\u2019s why, at 52 Hertz, we believe that communication is essential, even underwater.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The 52 Hertz project was born out of a shared passion between Jonas and Gabriel Guerche : scuba diving. Since they each enrolled at Sorbonne University, they have been diving with their sports association.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHow is it that we can communicate with the space station live over the internet, yet divers 10 meters underwater can't do the same?\u201d<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

It was while they were still beginners and discovering just how limited communication options were during dives, on the way home from a week-long diving trip in the south of France, that the two brothers came up with the idea to develop the Talky-Divy.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
